Education, not advice
Everything published by Handled Money — every article, checklist, worksheet, tool, email, and social post — is general financial education for a U.S. audience. It is written to help you understand how money topics work so you can think clearly, ask better questions, and make your own informed decisions.
It is not individualized investment, tax, legal, credit, or insurance advice. We don't know your income, your obligations, your health, your family, your risk tolerance, or your goals — and honest guidance about your specific situation requires exactly that knowledge.
No adviser-client relationship
Handled Money and its founder are not acting as your financial adviser, financial planner, investment adviser, accountant, tax preparer, attorney, or insurance agent. Reading our content, subscribing to our emails, downloading our resources, purchasing a digital product, or writing to us does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary, or any other professional relationship.
Handled Money is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, law firm, or accounting firm.
Your situation is specific. Our content is general.
General education, by definition, may not fit your circumstances. A strategy that's sensible for one reader can be wrong for another with a different tax bracket, timeline, family situation, or debt picture. Before acting on anything you read here, weigh it against your own situation — and when the stakes are meaningful, get individualized guidance first.
Examples are illustrations, never guarantees
When we use numbers — sample budgets, hypothetical returns, savings projections, points valuations — they are illustrations meant to make a concept concrete. They are not predictions, promises, or guarantees of any outcome. Past performance of any investment or strategy does not guarantee future results.
Investing involves risk
All investing carries risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest (your principal). Markets go down as well as up, sometimes for long stretches. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, fund, account, or financial product.
A note on credit and rewards content
Our Travel & Points content assumes one thing without exception: balances are paid in full, every month. Rewards math collapses the moment interest enters the picture — no welcome bonus outruns a 20-something percent APR.
Nothing we publish is a recommendation to apply for a credit card, take on debt, or spend money you wouldn't otherwise spend. If carrying a balance is part of your current reality, that's nothing to be ashamed of — but rewards strategies are not for this season, and we'd rather tell you that plainly. See our Affiliate Disclosure for how we handle card-related partnerships.
When to bring in a professional
Some decisions deserve individualized, licensed help. Consider consulting:
- A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional or registered investment adviser for investment strategy, retirement planning, and comprehensive financial planning
- A CPA or enrolled agent for tax questions and preparation
- An attorney for estate planning, divorce, and other legal matters
- A licensed insurance professional for coverage decisions
- A HUD-approved housing counselor or accredited credit counselor for serious debt or housing challenges
Asking for qualified help isn't a failure of self-sufficiency. It's what handling it looks like.
Accuracy and timeliness
We take accuracy seriously and update content when we learn it's out of date. Even so, tax law, contribution limits, interest rates, card terms, and program rules change constantly, and content on this site may not reflect the most current developments. Verify any time-sensitive detail with a primary source before relying on it.
